Lavazza unveiled its new Calendar 2016 “From Father to Son”, in collaboration with Slow Food. This time the young Canadian photographer Joey Lawrence has captured a new generation of #EarthDefenders: modern heroes of the earth, thanks to the teachings of the fathers, defending biodiversity and are promoting sustainable development. The photo captures young farmers alongside the older generations in time learning, representing them in their contemporary, in their desire for change, but always with respect for traditions. We went to the small village of Nagazu, next to the famous Villa Rica town, capital of coffee in Peru. There we met most of the families in the town, all of which have their lives intertwined with coffee. We also ventured to the Palomar region, where we met the Marin family. They are one of the few coffee growers involved in Biodanymics. Very interesting stuff! A portrait of them also made it into the calendar. Two weeks of coffee hunting, following a behind the scenes crew as well as the Joey L. team. It was a great pleasure.
